I had a bunch of people on their way over to my household when hastily my a/c stopped working.
I don’t know if it was because the a/c had been working harder all afternoon due to my oven being on or what.
I only know that the temperature was 74 degrees and climbing inside. I called our Heating and Air Conditioning company up and agreed to whatever emergency rates they said. I didn’t even listen, I just told them to get here asap. I then opened all of the windows and turned on the ceiling fans. The Heating and Air Conditioning professional arrived just as the guests started arriving. By the time most people had arrived, it was getting really hot inside. The guests made light of the situation but I could tell they were uncomfortable. Then, just as I put the food on the table, the a/c kicked back on. All of the guests cheered. I was legitimately cheerful. I even invited the professional to eat with us. After some persuasion, she agreed. I found out over supper that the professional was absolutely the owner of the Heating and Air Conditioning company. She had come out special to fix my air conditioner because she didn’t have anyone else to send on such short notice. She didn’t end up charging me an emergency repair fee either. Needless to say, her is the only Heating and Air Conditioning company I will use from now on. It is funny how the bad fortune of my a/c going out just before a giant celebration turned out to be a great thing. I made a new acquaintance and now have a company I know I can rely on.
