We were even able to raise the temperature on our thermostat a few degrees with this addition.
When we moved to the southern United States from the north, my husband and I were not fully prepared for the heat we would experience. We moved in May and had just escaped a colder than average northern spring. I cannot describe just how shocked we were by the climate differences. Our new home was great, and we were happy that we had a whole house air conditioning unit. Although we had a programmable thermostat, we still felt like we were warmer than we should be. Since we were not sure if it was just our adjustment to the climate, or our air conditioning unit, we had an HVAC technician come and evaluate our machine. The technician gave us tips on how to improve our air flow, and inspected our HVAC. He determined that our machine was working as it should be. We were surprised as he recommended a whole-house dehumidifier. I had never heard of someone installing one in their house, but we were willing to try something new to feel more comfortable in our home. The installation of the whole-house dehumidifier was quick and cost-effective. I was surprised with how quickly we saw results. The dehumidifier seemed to cool the house without us adjusting our thermostat lower. We were even able to raise the temperature on our thermostat a few degrees with this addition. We felt more comfortable with the dehumidifier than we had the entire time we had lived there. The air quality felt better, and we were starting to feel at home in our new house. This dehumidifier really was the key to finding comfort in our new hot climate.
