I worked in an assisted living condo and loved my job.
I viewed it as more of a calling than a job that I needed to do.
I loved hearing stories that the older gentlemen and girls shared with me whenever I bathed them or attended to their personal needs. While I was a fully trained nurse, caregiving was more of a passion for me, and I did not mind helping the older generation. I got so several blessings from the gentlemen and girls who felt the savor I shared with them in the process; So several had been neglected by a family who could no longer care for them while others had led a solo life, so there was no one to be with them. I tried my best to make them comfortable and supply them pain medication since most were terminally ill, then part of my duty was to ensure that they felt relaxed and happy, which I happyly did so much job. I applied a lot of tricks to achieve this and periodically needed gadgets to make it work. One of the things I insisted on when I first came to this condo was to have the owner install the right Heating, Ventilation and A/C system for the residents. The old gentlemen and girls regularly complained about strange heating and cooling needs. I suggested the owner to change the central Heating, Ventilation and A/C system to a mini-split A/C unit with each room’s control unit. This way, the residents could set their preferred temperatures and be more comfortable despite their diverse preferences. This has worked perfectly since they and the old folks are happier than they ever were before.
