It was September, and I was ready to take the AC units out of the windows and start getting ready for winter. I had my son coming over that weekend to help with the AC units, but it wasn’t going to happen. I was listening to the news two days later, and I heard it was going to be ninety that weekend. I couldn’t believe it was going to be so hot, but then who was I to understand the weather patterns? I called our son and told him it may not be wise to take the AC units out yet, and he said it was the only time he had. He had to do it this weekend, or we would need to wait another month before he had a weekend off. I didn’t want to wait that long, but I didn’t want to go without air conditioning either. I talked to my husband, and he said we should get it done. The only AC unit we left in was in the bedroom. Neither of us could sleep if it got too hot in the bedroom. I called our son back and asked him if he had made alternate plans. He was going to bring his son with him, and he was sure they could get the AC units in storage in an hour. He asked his dad if he wanted to go fishing with them at the lake. I was going to enjoy an entire weekend by myself, and I was looking forward to it. I even considered having them take the AC units out when they got back from their fishing trip.
