I get so happy when I see the snowflakes falling

Winter is not my favorite season.

Yet, I grew up in predominantly cold climates.

The town where I was born is known for having a very cold, windy winter. My home town, where I spent the other half of my life, also has long, very cold winters. The weather in both can be brutal. Because of that, it is very important to have a furnace that is reliable and in good, working condition. When I was young, it seemed that every year, inevitably, the furnace would stop working at some point. My mom would often try to repair the furnace herself. Her father had experience working with HVAC units and had taught her how to repair simple things. Sometimes it was a bigger problem, and she’d have to call the HVAC provider and ask them to send someone out to service the furnace. Most of the time, it was an easy fix. The HVAC technician would come out, take a look at the furnace and repair it with little problem. However, once, the furnace was broken beyond repair. My mother had to call and speak with the HVAC business. They discussed what kind of furnace would be best for our house and the cost of the heater installation. After she bought a new one, the HVAC technician brought it out and installed it in short order. It was a cold couple of days in between, and we were grateful we had a wood stove that provided a little heat, in the meantime. However, once the furnace was working again, we were so grateful. The warm air from the furnace brought our house back to a liveable temperature and made the winter slightly more bearable.
