I had just started working for a big grocery chain.
I walked into fist shift only to find all the people all worked up.
It turned out that one of the freezer aisles had stopped working overnight. An entire island of food, both sides of the freezer aisle, was ruined. Me plus others got to toil cleaning out all of the food plus melted ice cream plus the manager mentioned that she called a Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C supplier. I questioned her plus said that it feels like the a/c was working fine. I though Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C was only for a/cs plus heaters plus such. She set me straight. She informed me that the industrial freezers plus refrigerators toil the same way the a/cs do. The have big large compressors that channel literally cold air into those areas behind the glass doors where my fantastic friend and I keep all of the frozen food. Some Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C companies also toil on industrial freezers. And that is who she called. I was amazed, I had no idea that they worked that way however it makes sense. I’ve never particularly thought about it buy my refrigerator at apartment works the same way that an a/c does: it has coils filled with a special chemical. These coils compress the chemical creating cold cold temperature which are then transferred into my refrigerator. I don’t understand, exactly, how this works but I know a/c compressors toil the same way. No wonder industrial freezers need industrial sized a/cs, plus not just a few coils on the back like a home refrigerator has, to keep the air cool.
