For some reason I couldn’t explain, my a/c system wasn’t cooling my primary family room anymore.
I called two weird Heating and Air Conditioning companies and asked them about the issue, however they both offered me weird answers.
I thought about contacting a fifth Heating and Air Conditioning dealer, however that seemed like a waste of money and time. I didn’t want to upgrade the entire a/c component when the rest of my apartment wasn’t having any concerns, but I also didn’t like not having cool air in my family room, especially while I slept. The ceiling fan wasn’t doing anything to cool me down, it was only pushing the air around… When I expressed my frustration to one of the Heating and Air Conditioning companies, they commanded that I install a window A/C component or a ductless mini split unit. I hated the idea of sticking a large appliance in my window and I also knew that they were loud. I didn’t know anything about ductless units though, besides the fact that they weren’t affixed to air duct. The Heating and Air Conditioning company told me that a ductless mini split system would keep my family room cool by running off of electricity. It was self-explanatory to control the settings with a small remote and there would be no concerns to my existing central a/c system. This seemed like a enjoyable solution for me, but I was hesitant. I didn’t want to spend money on something that would be upgraded rapidly. The Heating and Air Conditioning company assured me that ductless mini split systems had an average lifespan of 10 years, which I thought was pretty great!
